Home sweet home

So I had promised people that the next post I would do would be about work over here, because alot of you have asked whether I’m actually doing the thing we came over here to do. Once I have more time, I will write a post about work and try to convince you all that we do actually get stuff done here rather than just plan our next social event!

But, for the time being you will just have to make do with today’s post which is a bunch of photos of our new apartment! First and foremost, here is the layout of our home – it was quite hard to get the scale correct so ignore that! Anyways, it’s a two bedroom apartment which is probably 70-80 square meters but we have no idea what size it actually is.

To start to tour we’ll start at the very far corner of the bedroom and work our way toward the balcony. So here are two shots of the bedroom, the first from the bottom left corner of the apartment and the second from the door.

Next is a picture of the bathroom

Here’s a picture from the bathroom door looking down the halway which has the bedroom and study on the left hand side and a cupboard and Molli’s cave on the right.

Next is the study, also known as The Mississauga Inn – high quality, affordable lodgings in the heart of Port Credit. Book while availabilities last!

Across the hall from the study is Molli’s cave, it’s where her litter box and food are. We’ve had to put her stuff in the cupboard and jam the sliding door from opening any further to prevent Bugi from going in there and eating all her food! If possible, Bugi has become even more of a nightmare around food than she was before we left. She’s absolutely impossible!

Then we come out into the entrance hall/ living room! Here there’s only one door to the apartment whih leads straight into the corridoor outside. It’s a bit distracting at first but you also get used to it quite fast. We’re at the very end of the corridoor so we don’t get any noise coming in from people passing by, but we do get the some smells coming in from next door where they smoke ALOT of pot.

From the living room we make our way into the kitchen. These photos are taken from the kitchen door and show both sides of it. It’s not a big kitchen by any means, but so far it’s been big enough!

Imagine you were to do a 180 at the kitchen door, you would come upon our dining room area, which then leads out onto the balcony through the door in the picture.

And then the balcony! We live quite high up and so we have a pretty nice view from the balcony. The first picture is just one of the balcony space but the second is a panorama shot of the view. The photo doesn’t do the view any justice, but it’s just to give you an idea of what we get to see every day! On the very left of the panorama is Mississauga city center, then when you look straight out in front, to the right handside of the tallest building we can see the whole of downtown Toronto (in the night it’s super nice with all the lights!) and then finally on the right, we have an open view to Lake Ontario.

And last, but not least, a photo of Bugi and Molli watching the trains load and unload together.

All in all, I’d say we got pretty lucky with this apartment and are crazy happy to have made a comfortable home here!

Until next time! Missing you all like nobody’s business!
