Sananen saunasta
Saunan lämmitystä mietittynä Duran jäsenten mieltymysten mukaan.
Tuli tuossa puheeksi yhtenä päivänä kahdestaan viestitellessä, onkohan Nick, John tai Roger olleet saunassa koskaan?
Sen tiedän, että Simonilla on kotonaan höyrysauna. Puhui siitä kerran WHOOOSHissa viime vuonna.
Mietittiin Päivin kanssa skenaariota, ovatkohan koskaan olleet suomalaisessa saunassa? Mitenköhän kävisi, jos nämä vietäisiin järvenranta mökille ja tehtäväksi annetaan lämmittää sauna? Klapit valmiina ja muut tykötarpeet, paitsi että tulet pitää saada kiukaan ja padan alle – helpotetaan vähän: vesi tulee järvestä saunaan käsikäyttöisellä pumpulla.
Luulisin käyvän niin, että Nick ei varmaan edes haluaisi kokeilla lämmittää saunaa. Liian paljon hikistä hommaa. Se siis vesittää jo saunan idean, eli hikoilun lauteilla ja peseytymisen myöskin niin, että pitää tehdä itse itselle sopivaa pesuvettä.
Luulisin, että John on vähän Nickin kanssa samoilla linjoilla. Liian paljon hommaa mokoman tähden. Tosin John on voinut joutua saunaan joskus 80-luvulla. John seurusteli malli Renee Simonsenin kanssa, joka on Tanskasta. Omasta kokemuksesta tiedän, että Tanskassa on saunoja. Tosin tiedän myös, ettei kiukaalle saa heittää vettä…
Roger sitten voisi ollakin kiinnostunut ja ehkä kokeillakin, miten saa tulet sytytettyä.
Simon olisi varmaan innoissaan saunasta. Kokeilisi varmasti laittaa saunaan tulet ja kantaisi varmaan vedet järvestä, niin ettei pumppua tarvitse käyttää. Simon on varmasti ainoa, joka ei vierasta pesuveden tekoa kylmästä ja kuumasta vedestä. Simonista on kuva laivan kannelta, kun heittää vettä ämpärillä päällensä…
Lopputulos on se, että Roger ja Simon lämmittää saunaa. Nick ja John istuvat mökissä ja parantavat maailmaa. Kun sauna on valmis, kaikki menevät kokeilemaan. Saadaanko ensi kesänä vastaus siihen, ketkä oikeasti tykkäävät saunasta?

Päivi and I just spoke about Christmas sauna and then started randomly wondering about DD members’ possible sauna habits and then the question arised have the current members of the band even visited sauna? We don’t know anything, just made some guessing just for fun of it!
The only thing I do know is that Simon has a steam bath as he mentioned about it in the last year’s WHOOOSH sessions. Together with Päivi, we imaginated the DD in sauna -scenario: how would it go if the fab four would spend some time in a cottage next to a lake and they should warm the sauna. A cottage, where everything is ready for warming the sauna.
We both agreed on that this would be something Nick found no interest for at all. Hardly would he even try. Too much sweaty work. All this making of your own
bath water etc would be definetely too much for Nick and propably for John too.
That said, it can be that John has visited sauna before for instance when dating the Danish model Renee Simmons back in the 80s, who knows. In Denmark they have of course saunas too, though in Denmark they have this funny rule of not allowing throwing the water to the kiuas. We assume Roger would be interested in trying to warm the sauna.
But what about Simon? We both agree on that he is excited about the idea of sauna. Perhaps he would even bear the water from the lake with his own hands! He is for sure the only one of the fab four who does not mind making the bath water by himself. I have even seen a picture of Simon pouring a bucket of water over.
That is to say Roger and Simon would be the ones to warm the sauna. Meanwhile, Nick and John would have a long conversation about making the world a better place. Perhaps, when the sauna is ready all of them has a try. Maybe next summer will show us Finnish people which one of them really are into sauna or what do you think?
