Maijun Duran Duran -tarina osa 3
Alkuosa 2000-lukua meni monenlaisissa oman elämän suhdekuvioissa ja työkuvioissa. Olin 2000-luvun alkupuolella aina silloin tällöin googlannut, mitä Duraneille kuuluu. Vaikka minulla oli sosialisen median tili/tilejä, en niissä edes seurannut Duraneita.
Hävettää oikein tunnustaa, että vasta vuonna 2011 epämääräisen Twitter-kokeilun takia huomasin, että Duran -faneilla oli omat sivustonsa tai Twitter-sivunsa. Samana vuonna täytin pyöreät vuodet ja Duranit olivat tavallaan juhlassa mukana. Juurikin sinä julisteena, jossa John ja Andy ovat normikoossa, ja tietysti 80-luvun musiikkikimaraan oli laitettu Durania.
Samana vuonna Duraneilla oli oma juhlavuotensa. Minä hankin molempien juhlien kunniaksi tatuoinnin, johon sain idean Seven And The Ragged Tiger-levyn symboliikasta. Tuli sitten laitettua siita kuva johonkin sen aikaseen Twitter-ketjuun Duran-tatuoinneista. Twitter-kokeilu jäi lyhyeksi, sillä juurikin tuon postauksen takia minua lähestyi huijari. Ei ole pelkästään korona-ajan ilmiö huijaukset ja rahan kalasteluyritykset.
Kuuntelin tuonna vuonna paljon Duran Duran -levyä All You Need Is Now, joka ilmestyi jouluksi 2010. Surullista oli, etten päässyt 2011 käyttämään syntymäpäivälahjaa, jonka hankin itselleni. Lipu Kaisa festeille oli jo valmiina. Simonin ääni ongelmat keskeyttivät kiertueen. Olin pitkään surun murtama.

The beginning of 2000 was full of relationships and working. Every now and then I googled Duran Duran to find out what’s up with the band. Although I then had social media accounts, I did not follow the band. I am ashamed of the fact that it was not until 2011 I realised that DD has a twitter account etc. It was the same year I had my 40th birthday celebration party! In a way, Duran Duran was involved as I had a poster of the band in in their normal size at my party and of course 80s music including Duran Duran songs were played in my party.
In the same year, Duran Duran celebrated their 30th anniversary of their magnificent career. For the double celebration, I took a tattoo (inspired by the Seven and The Ragged Tiger -symbols). I posted a upicture of the tattoo back then into a Twitter message chain about DD tattoos. I did not use Twitter long as I was reached out by a scammer because of this tattoo related post. This is to remind of the fact the scams are not only the result of covid-19 era, there is a long history of scams before the recent and current pandemic times.
During that particular year of 2011, I listened a lot to the DD album All You Need is Now which was their newest album then released in Dec 2010, just before the Christmas. The sad fact was that I was not able to use the Birthday gift I had bought to myself – the tickets to the DD summer gig in Kaisafest, Helsinki. The concert was cancelled due to Simon’s vocal problems which forces to cancel the whole already started tour. I was long heartbroken.
