Upeaa, millainen DD -kevät tämä vuoden 2022 kevät on ollutkaan!

Erittäin jännittävä Rock N Roll Hall of fame -äänestys, jossa DD oli mukana, Duran Duranin Helsingin keikan odouts ja erittäin kiinnostava Kasariklässiks-radiotiimin pitämä radio-ohjelmasarja, joka huipentui pari viikkoa sitten Duran Duranin teemaosaan. Kiitos vain Jussille ja Kimmolle kiinnostavasta sarjasta! Oli sielä jotakin uuttakin tietoa joukossa meikäläisellekin!

Rock N Roll -hall of fame -äänestys näytti ensin Eminemin riemuvoitolta. Kyllä siinä nousi ylä-astemuistot mieleen, kun teinivuoteni sattuivat aikaan, jolloin ikäisieni olisi pitänyt digata rapsceneä, Eminemiä nyt ainakin, mutta DD ja muu kasarimusa vei mun sydämen jo silloin. Jotain tapahtui keväällä ja DD veikin johdon faniäänestyksessä ja veikin sitten viimeiset äänestyskuukaudet Eminemiä kuin pässiä narusta 😀 Faniäänestyksen voittaja oli jo pitkään selvillä, mutta vasta muutama viikko sitten selvisi, että DD todella voitti koko skaban. Yleisöäänethän voittajaa eivät yksin ratkaise.

Edessä on kuitenkin kevään ja ehkä koko vuoden jännin viikko Suomen Duran Duran -faneille! Duran Duran saapuu Suomeen lähes kuukaudelleen 40 vuoden odotuksen (viime keikat Suomessa olivat 28.9.1982 ja 29.9.1982) jälkeen. Itse en edes ollut vielä tätä maailmaa kummastelemassa tuolloin. Onneksi olen kerran saanut silti nähdä bändin livenä (Briteissä vuonna 2016), mutta on tämä Suomen keikka nyt ihan eri asia! Siitä tulee upea spektaakkeli ja voin kuvitella jo sen hurmoksellisen tunnelman, kun tuhannet fanit näkevät vihdoin lempibändinsä livenä! Olen sanaton ja kyllä jännittää! Lupaamme Maijun kanssa jakaa tänne keikasta tunnelmia!

What a marvellous DD spring this spring 2022 has been!

There has been Rock n Roll Hall of fame fan vote (Duran Duran included), Duran Duran’s concert in Helsinki (in June 2022) and a very exciting Kasariklässiks radio show by Kimmo and Jussi (thank you guys) which included a special show dedicated to Duran Duran with some new facts to me. 

At first, it seemed like the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame -fan vote would be an Eminem thing but luckily Duran Duran ruled the vote during the last months. A lot of memories poured out – Eminem vs Duran Duran as in my teenage years Eminem was the nr 1 artist every teenager should have adored. I only had my Duran Duran and loved also other 80s acts. I was not and are not interested in rap scene at all. So, I am more than relieved of the fact that Duran Duran won the Rock n Roll hall of fame fan vote and also the whole competition. 

Next week will be the most exciting week of this spring or of this whole year! Especially for the Finnish Duran Duran -fans as Duran Duran will finally perform in Helsinki, Finland after 40 years’ break. Last time they visited our country in Sept 1982, so it’s been a while. I did not even existed that time but luckily I have seen DD in concert for six years ago in Oxford, UK. Still, the DD concert in Helsinki next week will be a totally different experience, something else, out of this world! It feels so unreal to finally have my favourite band here in my home country! I can only imagine the atmosphere with so many fans who have been devoted fans since early 80s and perhaps see the band in concert for the very first time after all these years (like Maiju!!!)! I am out of words and so excited! Together with Maiju, we promise to share here our thoughts on the concert!

Phew! Soon we see all the Duran guys! “Is this the real life or is this fantasy?”
