Ajattelin opetella uudenlaista ruuanlaittoa ja hommasin reissusta keittokirjan. Mandy’s Favorite Louisiana Recipes on alunperin vuodelta 1929. Siitä löytyy mm. tällaisia ohjeita:

Stuffed Chicken; ”a good roas’in’ chicken he mek moughty good eatin’, da’s true; but wid a tasty sto’ o’ stuffiin’ in him, he’s dat good en twicet mo.”
Clean the hen well. It is better to have it killed the day before…
