It’s only been a year and it doesn’t feel like a lifetime here. I’d like to post something clever (or wise) about the universe but I don’t want to admit I have the time to do that. Most of the time I’m ashamed about how much time I have and how little I do. Other times I’m disgusted by anyone who schedules EVERYTHING, and I mean everything, even creative or free-thinking time!

So I’d rather move on to lists. I’ve been super inspired by Reetta Räty’s blog on hs.fi (http://blogit.hs.fi/reetta/, awesome stuff, I love it)

Remarks of the day/week/month/year (not sure when I’ll post next so better play it safe)

– shopping malls are awful. I don’t want to live in a place where all of the city’s infrastructure can be described by the location of shopping malls. Come to think of it, though, a lot of homeless people probably partly live in shopping malls. Good for them. 

– is consumer culture really that of an unpredictable replacement for religion? They both seem pretty similar to me in nature (but not in history.) 

– if someone claims to be jealous of someone’s material or physical posessions, he/she should buy the exact same thing(s) and see if makes him/her happy. Probably doesn’t. 

– where does jealousy come from?

– can a person ever be 100% complete, content or satisfied with themselves and when do they know?

– Is it the journey or is it the destination?

– free Pussy Riot. Seriously. 

– not drinking socially for a good month now has been cool. Being sober is a good high. Can’t say it’s the best ’cause I haven’t tried all the other ones. 

– still, Finnish drinking culture pisses me off. Like Phil Schwarzmann said (roughly quoted) ”Everything is so good in Finland that people have to drink” Really, if we didn’t have all the time and money to drink, we wouldn’t drink. And no, it can’t be about the weather, half of Canadians or Alaskans aren’t alcoholics either! 

I think I’ll keep writing in English, because no one probably cares!
