You’ve got to start somewhere…

Inspired by HATCH Collection’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection (with out a doubt the queens of maternity wear!), I wanted to share a few brands that I fell in love with during my pregnancy and now while nursing. While I found that I could quite easily get away with a lot of my old tops with my baby bump (and was even able to find a few great ones is larger sizes from non-maternity brands), I did want to invest in some chic trousers, jackets and coats (as well as an impulse dress or two!). My absolute favorite maternity pants are by J.Crew – I still continue to wear them, albeit with belts, which was one of my criteria when making my purchases. Other labels that ship internationally are Koka Mama, 1 et 1 font 3, Belly Dance and Topshop as well as Gap maternity.  Seraphine and Isabella Oliver do some nice dresses, J Brand does great jeans and Shopbop also has a maternity ”boutique”.

As for nursing wear, I’ve been a little disappointed so far. AuLait, my favorite, make beautiful clothes I would wear nursing or not. Keungzai also has some cute drape-y tops and dresses. And while I would not necessarily call them chic, BoobDesign tanks have been on high rotation in my closet – while not my favorite look, the are incredibly practical, discreet and wash well. Also, a big thanks to lingerie brands such as Cosabella and Elle Macpherson Intimates for making pretty nursing bras! Mostly, though, I’ve been relying on ”regular” button-down shirts and loose-necked Ts. For example, DKNY cozies have proved to be great nursing covers. I’m constantly on the lookout for nice nursing tops, any recommendations are very welcome!
