Hei vuosi 2015!
Olin kuullut sinusta paljon jo etukäteen, puhuvat aina vuoden vaihteesta ja sen erikoisuudesta. Sanovat, että silloin juhlitaan ja isosti; juodaan ja syödään ja räjäytellään ilotulitteita tai vähintään katsellaan niiden iloista räiskettä tummalla taivaalla. Meidän ensikohtaamisemme oli hieman erilainen kuin odotin, mutta sitäkin hienompi. Menin ystävieni kanssa rantaan; meri kohisi rauhoittavasti ja kuu hymyili meille hienoisen pilviverhon takaa. Ihastelimme maisemia, pohdimme ääneen miten onnekkaita olemme kun saamme olla yhdessä viettämässä uuttavuotta täällä Filippiineillä, juttelimme vuoden 2014 kohokohdista ja taisi muutamat höpsöt tehdä uudenvuoden lupauksiakin. Lähtölaskenta tulevaan vuoteen alkoi, samppanja pullot avattiin ja vuosi 2015 toivotettiin tervetulleeksi iloisilla huudahduksilla ja maljojen kohottamisella. Pariskunnat suutelivat, kaikki halasivat toisiaan ja ilotulitteet välähtelivät taivaalla. Mikä teki kohtaamisestamme niin erikoisen oli se pieni hetki, kun katseeni kohdistui ilotulitteiden sijaan tähtitaivaalle. Sille samalla taivaalle jota tiesin ystävieni ja perheeni katselevan samana iltana toisella puolella maapalloa. Tuon pienen hetken ajan tunsin heidän olevan kanssani juuri nyt. Toivoin heille kaikkea hyvää ja sitä samaa toivotan juuri nyt sinulle!

Hi year 2015!
I heard a lot about you way before we had chance to actually meet each other. People always talk about new year eve and how special it is supposed to be. They say that it is time for big celebration; lot of drinking, eating and fireworks. Our first meeting was little bit different that I tought it will be, but it was very special moment. I went with my friends to the beach; sea seems to be calm and moon was smiling to us. We were amazed by the beautiful view, we felt extremely lucky to be here sharing that moment together, we were talking about highlights of year 2014 and some of us made new year resolutions. Countdown for coming year started, champagne bottles popped cheerfully and we welcomed in year 2015! Lovers were kissing, everyone was hugging and fireworks lighted up the sky. The reason why my first meeting with 2015 was so special, is the small moment when I raise my eyes up to the sky and instead of fireworks I saw beautiful starst above the ocean. For the same sky what I knew my friends and family will be watching on the another side of the world. I felt like they were with me sharing that small moment. I wish them all the best and so I do the same for all of you right now.
