Relight My Fire…or Not

Were you a Backstreet Boys fan? Did you agonise over the fact that Robbie left Take That? Did you know the lyrics to Bye Bye Bye by heart? Or did you and your friends collect all the New Kids on the Block fan merchandise you could get your hands on?

No? Then you’re just like me. I was never a big fan of boy bands, nor did I get the craze for them.

Don’t get me wrong, I can still belt out Relight My Fire with the best of them, and whenever Everybody starts to play on the dance floor I jump like a lunatic. But I was never a real fan. A fan with an exclamation mark.

Even when all my friends were in love with Jordan -or whoever the hell it was – from New Kids on the Block, I did…not…get…it. Seriously. What? Who? Why?

Even to this day, I cannot name one NKOTB song. Not one. For shame.
