I Think I’m a Banana Tree
When the outside temperature rises
And the meaning is oh so clear
One thousand and one yellow daffodils
Begin to dance in front of you – oh dear
Are they trying to tell you something?
Queen
A while ago, I found this Jean Paul Gaultier for Lindex vest hiding on a sales rack. It was one of those rare moments, when I was in the right place at the right time. Just one vest, and it was in my size. Victory!
I don’t know from where it had materialised, since I had no recollection of seeing it before at the store…and trust me I visit the local Lindex store plenty. But there it was. It must have been destiny.
Okay, let’s not get carried away, after all it’s just a vest. Call it a lucky chance. A stroke of luck. A…Oh, forget about it.
I figured I’d just combine it with one of my (dozens of) simple T-shirts, but then, accidentally, hung it in the closet with my – one and only – band top. Queen obviously – the greatest band ever. You may disagree of course. You’d be wrong, but you may still disagree.
Just kidding.
I may or may not have been conditioned to love Queen since childhood, as my dad is a massive fan of the band. I could probably hum my first Queen song before I could talk.
Anyway, I think the combination might actually work. What do you think?
I’m one card short of a full deck
I’m not quite the shilling
One wave short of a shipwreck
I’m not at my usual top billing
I’m coming down with a fever
I’m really out to sea
This kettle is boiling over
I think I’m a banana tree
Oh dear, I’m going slightly mad
Queen/Slightly mad
