The Japanese housecoat

I got this beautiful, silk housecoat from my boyfriend’s mom, who originally got it from her husband as a romantic gift from Japan years ago. At first I couldn’t take it because of its sentimental value but she disagreed as she knew I would wear the housecoat and take good care of it. She was right, I adore this housecoat – the floral pattern is absolutely gorgeous and embraces the season’s dark romance. Love at first sight.

The Claw earrings from House of SYYS’s collection add a finishing touch for the outfit.

New York Fashion week / IvanaHelsinki SS14 Runway show live

I got a little sneak peek of SS14 runway collection of IvanaHelsinki in Cuba! bar last night – the event was arranged by Canon and there was a live stream show of Paola Suhonen’s newest collection from New York Fashion week.

I could see the collection was inspired by delicate butterflies, warm summer breezes and beautiful ladies from countryside. The influence was slightly taken from the 70s as the colours of the dresses were rich shades of orange, hazelnut brown and light khaki, not forgetting Suhonen’s signature touch, the exciting stroke-like patterns. I fell in love with the paper-thin brimmed hat and would welcome the beauty for my hat rack anytime.

The jewellery designer Jenni Rutonen, as already mentioned here, was a lucky girl to have her gorgeous butterfly necklaces in the show. Well done Jenni.

But for now, when summer 2014 seems so far away, let’s just concentrate on enjoying dark, chill evenings. My choice for the cold night was this Vintage Escada (wool) jacket.

Oh, and if you want to get more photogenic inspiration, go to Mondo to see a bunch of stunning shots. My photographer is taking part in the competition with the amazing photo from Norway – the marvellous pic is number 21, let’s vote for her. x
