Lady Violet, oli jo ikävä!

Tiistai-illoilla on nyt tarkoitus. YLE on viime aikoina kunnostautunut ja näyttänyt Downton Abbey’ä Suomessa tuoreeltaan, kun se pyörii vielä Briteissä. Sarjan viides kausi esitetään loka-tammikuun aikana tiistaisin klo 21 TV1:ssä.

Nyt eletään vuotta 1924. Toivottavasti ärhäkkä Granthamin leskikreivitär Lady Violet Crawley on yhtä vauhdissa kuin ennenkin!

Isobel: ”I think Cousin Robert is referring to Ethel’s work as a prostitute.”
Violet: ”Well, of course these days servants are very hard to find.”

Robert: I thought you didn’t like him?
Violet: So what? I have plenty of friends I don’t like.

”’Lie’ is so unmusical a word.”

Violet: ”I’m so looking forward to seeing your mother again. When I’m with her, I’m reminded of the virtues of the English.”
Matthew: ”But isn’t she American?”
Violet: ”Exactly.”

Edithin mahdollisuudesta kirjoittaa kolumni sanomalehteen: ”When may she expect an offer to appear on the London stage?”

Isobel: ”How you hate to be wrong!”
Violet: ”I wouldn’t know, I’m not familiar with the sensation.”
