Circus came to town
Just a day before leaving, I had an idea to do a poster for the baby’s room as a gift for my sister’s baby shower that I was not able to take part in due to the distance:
My sister is knocked up and thrilled about it (minus the vomiting, early contractions and unwanted cervical dilation). I painted a circus-themed poster for the baby’s room using water colors and a high quality paper. I really took a stereotypical view on the circus, like the depiction of the amazing man and of the circus animals and I noticed it bothered me then and it still does, even increasingly so. Therefore the next painting with this theme is going to have a contemporary interpretation on the roles concerning gender and inequality between humans and animals: bears taming humans, men posing as objects in skin revealing clothes.
