Hi sweetie,
Yesterday it snowed in Helsinki for the first time. My way to work is like a massive wind tunnel by the sea, where the wind hits you like finals, an empty bank account and shitty people all at once. It’s freezing. I really need a thicker coat. Or a thicker skin.
I’m sorry to hear that applying for jobs is not going super well, but to be completely honest, the grass isn’t that much greener on the other side of the fence either. I went away for a week to get my shit together, but came back to 200 unread emails and everyone still dumping their stuff for me to do. Otherwise the trip was great. I hiked on the hills of Cinque Terre and watched clouds pass by. In the evenings I sat on my tiny little terrace, sipped wine and watched people pass by on the street. Didn’t talk to anyone. It was wonderful.
Graduating, what is that? Sounds like an exotic fruit. I’m happy to hear that you’re done with uni though, I wish I could say the same. Great that you have cats though to keep you company when your friends are stuck in their 5 to 9 hell. I’m slightly jealous. Of the cats, I mean.
I’m super happy for you and the Texan! Yay you! Enjoy the feeling and stop counting the days until things maybe might potentially end.
In other news, I’m still single as a pringle (yes…). Recently on a date, the guy told me that his ideal girlfriend is pretty, petite and pretty dumb. Not the most flattering thing I’ve heard from a man, but unfortunately not the worst either. I’m coping.
As a tip from someone who screws up her relationships all the time; don’t do things the way I do them. This sucks.
Other than that, life is pretty good. I just got an iphone so I can finally rech people like a grown up.
Talk soon! I miss you!
-E
