Mitä Obama katsoo televisiosta?
The New York Times julkaisi artikkelin Yhdysvaltain presidentti Barack Obaman television katselusta. Sinänsä kuulostaa yhtä news worthyltä kuin Obaman koira Bon joulukuvaukset, mutta mielenkiintoiseksi artikkeli muuttuu Obaman lempisarjojen luettelemisen myötä. 1. House of Cards (Netflix)
[…] Mr. Obama jokingly lamented his own inability to maneuver the halls of Congress in the way of Kevin Spacey’s character, Frank Underwood. “I wish things were that ruthlessly efficient,” Mr. Obama was overheard saying to Reed Hastings, the Netflix C.E.O., who invited the president to do a cameo on the show. 2. Breaking Bad (AMC)

3. Homeland (Showtime)
Mr. Obama is also a devotee of Showtime’s “Homeland,” which offers an eerily familiar mirror to the president’s own foreign policy adventures: terrorism, Iranian nuclear negotiations, drone strikes, and an intelligence agency struggling for legitimacy with Congress and the American people. 4. The Wire (HBO)

Sarjalistauksen mielenkiintoisuus tulee, tietysti, sarjojen aihepiireistä, joka on ainakin kolmen sarjan tapauksessa hyvin lähellä Obaman omaa työtä ja politiikan maailmaa ylipäätään! Artikkelissa Obaman hyväksi sarjaksi mainitsema Game of Thrones on myöskin hyvin cut-throat valtapeliä. On jotenkin niin hyvällä tavalla huvittavaa ja ihmisläheistä, että Yhdysvaltain presidentti katsoo Valkoiseen taloon sijoittuvia sarjoja, siinä missä miljoonat muutkin amerikkalaiset.
