And to those interested here’s a quick Q&A with Emma Lindqvist, designer of the Tomorrow collection for Lindex.

How would you describe the collection?

The collection is a retake of the pieces I designed for my Bachelor collection, which won the Lindex price.
My focus was on screen printing and the way it can be used, even when manufacturing the collection in factories. I was interested about the effect you get when printing different layers on different layers of fabric as well as working with images on a really large scale and the pixelated effect you get when supersizing the prints. The collection is inspired by sportswear aesthetic.

Who did you design the collection for? Who’s the woman you had in mind when you were designing the collection?

No one in particular, I guess. The prints I worked with are about femininity and what it is to me. It’s like this hidden message in the imagery mixed with a cool sports- or streetwear aesthetic.

What are your plans for the future? What’s next?

Right now I’m doing my Masters degree at Swedish School of Textiles but after that I’m not sure yet. Of course my own brand is something that I have in mind but I’m not sure yet if that’s the way to go. I would like to keep working with prints on garments and that’s what I’m doing with my Masters studies at the moment. The kind of collaborations that I did with Lindex on this collection are really great for seeing how do your ideas translate into garments made in factories comparing to a sample collection that you sew yourself.
