Curious for Sets

KURIOS! Go and see it!

I went yesterday to see Cirque du Soleil’s KURIOS, that’s running in Vancouver. LOVED IT! The show, tricks, music, set design, story, everything! <3 Anytime I go see these kinds of shows, I get the urge to become a set designer (and a musician and a performer and what not…) The set was absolutely beautiful. It was moving, the show was full of interactive stuff with the set (and the technicians – a shout out to you people!) The importance of a set in any performance is huge. It sets the feeling. And it doesn’t have to be big or elaborate, you can do so much with lights too. And yes, even though designing lights around shows is its own thing, I still count it as part of the set design. They have to work together. And boy, did they. I’m speachless – which is kinda bad, when writing a blog. 😀

Seriously, if you ever get the chance to go see Cirque du Soleil, GO! Here are some pictures of the set. Not during the show, though, ’cause that’s not allowed, which, in my opinion, is a good thing. You really can focus on and enjoy the show.
