Trip to Russia vol. 2

Mikäs se sopivampaa kuin lätkästä näin syyskuun alkuun vähän biitsikuvia! No jaa, voitte huokaista helpotuksesta, nää ei oo mitää piñacoladan ja aurinkovoiteen tuoksuisia fotoja, vaan ihan tuulisen päivän otoksia Terijoen ihanalta rantahietikolta.

What would be more appropriate than put some beach pics in here at the beginning of the september! Well, these are not some piñacolada-suntanlotion smelled beach pics, just ordinary windy day pics from lovely beach of Terijoki.

Voin vaan kuvitella millaiselta tuolla on näyttäny silloin kun se on ollut hyvin hoidettu. Kaunistahan sielä oli nytkin, mutta roskaista.

I can just imagine how the beach looked when it was still taken care of. It was still beautifull, but quite untidy.

Oli uskomatonta kuinka huonoon kuntoon rannalle johtavat tiet oli päästetty, puhumattakaan täysin tyhjistä, rapistuneista hotelleista… Ei voi vaan ymmärtää… Silti tuolla käy tosi paljon turisteja Pietarista ja lähiympäristöstä. Ravintolaa ja hotellia riittää. Ei vaan voi ymmärtää sitä että tyhjillään olevat hotellit vaan jätetään paikoilleen lahoamaan samaan aikaan kun uskomattomia ”palatseja” rakennetaan viereen.

The walks to the beach were in very bad shape. Not to mention totally abandoned hotels… I just can’t understand. There are still many tourists from St. Petersburg etc., visiting the place. So there are lots of restaurants and hotels. I just can’t understand why just leave the big building on it’s place to slowly crumble on its own, and at the same time, unbeliveble ”palaces” are builded next to them.

Löysin muuten parit täysin ehjänä pysyneet simpukankuoret tuolta rannalta. Ajattelin teettää faijalle kuvan tuosta rantamaisemasta ja liittää siihen sitten mukaan simpukankuoren. Siinä ois sit samassa sen oman isän lapsuuden maisema ja ihan konkreettinen muisto paikan päältä (hemmetti kun ei tullut silloin mieleen, ois pitäny ottaa vähän tota hiekkaa messiin!!! :D).

I found couple of seashells, that were in perfect shape, from the beach. I thought that I’ll make a picture from the beach and frame it, and enclose the seashell in the picture someway. That would be nice memory for my father, the view his own dad used to see from his childhood beach, and also a touchable memory from the beach (damn I didn’t think it the, I should’ve take some of that sand with me!!! :D).
