Beautiful bird

I’ve heard that sound when someone falls to the ground

I’ve seen those tears made out of fear

I know we both know we keep our secret inside it only gets shown when no one’s around

When you scream out loud an echo from the past then completely shut down with no straws to grasp

The water’s filling up you’re drowning in your lungs too blurry to see stay right here with me

I know you’re hurting now it’s burning in your chest when you try to breath
It’s like you’re not worthy of like you’re dirty and the worst that’s ever been seen
But they’re your enemy don’t listen to their words they don’t want you to be that beautiful bird

When you close your eyes you can still feel those hands how they’re holding you down you didn’t stand a chance
And when you tried to scream you didn’t have a voice
I can see you didn’t have a choice
Now you tremble from inside every limb gets cold you try to push aside how they wrecked you and stole
Every ounce of worth they stripped you from within how they ripped you apart tried to break your wings
