The priceless gift

I will write this one in English. Maybe I will show it to our surrogate one day.

Jennifer sent me last week a link to a Youtube clip. In the video an American couple and their families have gathered together to have a memorial servive. A memorial service for the couple’s unborn twins that they lost on their 21st week of pregnancy.

In the video the family is getting ready for a group picture and just before taking the photo, the couple asks a pregnant lady to join them. The family looks slightly confused and after the photo the couple announces that the pregnant lady is their surrogate and 24 weeks pregnant for their baby.

The reaction of the family is telling a lot. Everything.

I have watched the video a few times now. And every time it makes me think about this process.

Our surrogate. Our families.

And every time it makes me cry.

What Jennifer is doing to me, to my husband and to our families is something that one cannot measure with money. It is priceless. It fulfills dreams so big that I thought are impossible to fill.

Thank you. <3

”After losing our twins in 2013 at 21 weeks, our friend offered to surrogate for us. We didn’t tell our family until she was 24 weeks along. We went to Multnomah Falls to have a memorial service for our twins and then had a ”stranger” (the surrogate’s husband) video our family’s reaction to our surrogate introducing herself and us telling them it was our baby!”
