Kanelbulla vs Korvapuusti

One of the blog readers, korvapuustifan_in_stockholm, advised me in his/her comment to check Korvapuusti’s Swedish equivalent – kanelbulla. Straight after reading the comment without giving it another thought, I was on the phone to Viking Line to book my cruise to Stockholm (just joking, we had a journey planned weeks before). Since we didn’t have much free time I only managed to squeeze in two cafés with kanelbulle. I must say that not either of them have blown me away. Maybe the cafés were just bad choices or Sweden really has nothing on Finland. Finland is still the champion of Korvapuusti baking. Let’s get down to business…

The place is very nice, has a nice hippie feeling to it with worn down furniture that you can actually buy if you like it. I truly recommend the café itself. Kanelbulla however, had a tasteless dough and a strange filling. But they heated up our pulla’s so bonus points for that! Well done Cafe String!

Sundbergs Konditori

Nice, old-fashioned looking café. I just have to say that the weird melted sugar icing was a bit icky…it killed the rest of the bun for me.
