Herätyskello soi tänään 5.15 ja kuudelta marssittiin jo hissille. Suomi posse ja Italianot. Vettä satoi kaatamalla, kun marssittiin mutaista tietä pitkin hissijonoon, joka siis siihen aikaan oli jo about 30m. Kahen tunnin odotus, Starbucksin kahvit, rumpuorkesteri ja ihan mieletön fiilis. Jengiä kasaantui parissa tunnissa aika hullu määrä ja voi sitä ilon määrää, kun hissi lähti liikkeelle. On kyllä aika mahtavaa olla osana jotain tällaista! Kaikki oli ihan litimärkiä ja kylmissään, mutta suuri hymy kasvoilla. Ylhäällä odotti hullu myrskytuuli, sumu ja lumisade, mutta eipä haitannu. Laskettiin muutama lasku, jonka jälkeen oli pakko mennä ottaa evästä, ku räkä jäätyi nenään kiinni ja vaatteet oli märkiä ja jäässä samanaikaisesti. Kaiken kaikkiaan, aika järjetöntä meininkiä, mutta kaiken vaivan arvoista! Tästä se lähtee, kausi 12/13 Whistlerissä. Nyt pastaa ja vinoa napaan ja pubiin!

Alarm clock went off at 5.15am this morning and at 6am, the FinnishItalian crew was already on their way to the village to be part of the first ones who can catch the lift to the top of the mountain. It was the opening day of the season 12/13. The lift queue was about 30m at 6am, and during that 2h we waited outside in the pouring rain, there was just more and more people joining the queue. Reporters were interviewing and taking pictures of the anxious riders waiting in the lift queue. Our clothes were wet and we were cold, but it didn’t matter at all – the feeling was just amazing! At 8.15 the first lift started running and everybody was just cheering and smiling! So cool to be part of something like this! The conditions on the top of the mountain were quite sketchy – super windy and foggy, but no one seemed to care about it. We shredded for a while and went for a lunch when we were so cold that we could barely move anymore. Overall, super fun day and amazing experience! Now some pasta and vino with Italianos!
