Hahaa, täällä alkaa näköjään uuden kameran myötä kukkia pieni valokuvausnatsi. Vaikka olen kaukana ammattilaisesta, olisi kuitenkin hienoa, jos perusasiat olisivat kunnossa. Nämä kuvat valitettavasti eivät ole terävyydeltään ja sommittelultaan mitään kärkikastia, mutta omapahan on syyni. Ei ehkä nimittäin ole viisasta laittaa ADHD-miestäni kameran taakse, kun tulosta pitäisi syntyä kahdessa ja puolessa sekunnissa… 😉 No, ensin postauksen poistettuani päätin kuitenkin, että parempi edes laittaa jotain asukuvaa. 

Heh, I must be getting too used to the nicer picture quality: I have become a serious photography-nazi! Although I am far away from a pro, it would be nice to have the basics right. Unfortunately these pictures aren´t exactly what I´d hoped for when it comes to the sharpness and crop, but I guess it´s my own fault. It´s not exactly the best idea to ask my ADHD husband to take my outfit pictures when he expects good results after 2 seconds of snapping… 😉 Oh well. First I deleted this post but then changed my mind since I kind of wanted to show you guys this outfit.

Eilen kävin tässä asussa työhaastattelussa. Tulipahan joululahjaksi saatu huivikin sitten kuvattua käytössä. Poimin tämän farkkuteeman mukaisesti taas eri farkut kaapista näytille. Nämä farkut on ostettu tyttöjen Tallinnan reissulta Pull&Bearista, ja olen ollut niihin kyllä todella tyytyväinen. Eivät venähdä ja ovat pitäneet värinsäkin oikein hyvin. Omat periaatteeni sotivat varmaan täysin kaikkien farkkugurujen oppeja vastaan, mutta aina kallis merkki ei todellakaan takaa laatua! (Toki mielelläni ostan farkkuni esim. Guessilta, kun rahatilanne sen sallii.) Nämä farkut olivat pitkään suosikkini, eivätkä ehkä vähiten siksi, että niiden ostomatkaan liittyy niin mukavia muistoja. 🙂 Toki vähän haikeitakin, sillä myöhemmin pidin näitä päällä sinä päivänä, kun muutimme Suomesta pois. Kesällä farkkuja ei tullut paljoa pideltyä 45 asteen leppoisan helteen vuoksi, ja syksyllä niitä jalkaan vetäessäni huomasin kauhukseni, että ruokakulttuurin muutos oli tuonut mukanaan pari erittäin ei-toivottua kiloa. Syksyn aikana sain onneksi nämä kesäkilot karistettua, joten nyt farkut onneksi taas pääsivät käyttöön.

Yesterday I went to a job interview in this outfit. Finally got to show you the scarf that I got for Christmas! I picked a different pair of jeans this time, according to the #Denim Week theme. These jeans were bought on a girls´ trip to Estonia, from a store called Pull&Bear. I have been really happy with these since they don´t stretch out and have kept their color more than well. My principles must be against all doctrines of the Denim-gurus, but an expensive brand doesn´t always guarantee good quality. (Of course I love my Guess jeans and I buy them whenever possible.) These jeans were my favorite pair for a long time, maybe because they are associated with good memories from the trip when I bought them. 🙂 Some memories are bittersweet as well: I wore these jeans in the summer when we moved away from Finland. In the summer I didn´t wear these at all, due to the ”mild” 110F weather, and in the fall I noticed that a change of food culture had definitely brought a few extra pounds along. Fortunately I got rid of them later in the fall, so now I can wear these again.

Farkkujen osto on minulle todellista tuskaa. Lahkeet ovat aina poikkeuksetta liian pitkät, olen ehkä elämäni aikana omistanut yhdet tai kahdet farkut, joita ei ole tarvinnut kääriä tai lyhentää. Nyt pillifarkkujen aikakautena lahkeet on helppo jättää rullalle, mutta ei sekään aina miellytä silmää. Omat mittasuhteeni ovat myös aina vähän epäsuhdassa: lantioni on aina ollut leveä suhteessa reisiin, joten vyötäröstä sopivat farkut yleensä pussittavat polvista, vaikka kuinka ostaisin pienimmän mahdollisen koon. En kuitenkaan koe tarpeelliseksi pukeutua niin tiukkoihin farkkuihin, että sisäelimet puristuvat kasaan. Ihan sama, mitä asiantuntijat sanovat. (Tästä lisää keskustelua täällä.)

Shopping for jeans is torture for me. Without an exception, they are almost always too long for me: I have maybe owned one or two pairs without having to roll or hem them. During this skinny jeans era, it´s easy enough just to leave them (like above) but that doesn´t always please my eye either. My proportions have always been kind of weird anyway: my hips have always been wide in relation to my thighs, which makes it impossible to find a fitting pair of jeans. When they fit at the waist, they are always too loose around my knees, even if I buy the smallest possible size. I don´t even think I ever want to wear jeans to tight that they squeeze my intestines, no matter what the experts say. 

Pakko laittaa tämä vielä näin loppukevennyksenä: näin vakavasti meillä otetaan tämä asukuvaus. Yritä siinä sitten tehdä tosissaan jotain järkevää ja tavoitteellista tämän Hessu Hopon kanssa…
