Island in the sun – SRI LANKA (osa 1)
”Lanka was the classical name bestowed on the island by the Ramayana, an ancient Indian epic. A possible theory is that the name Lanka is derived from the Tamil word ”ilanku”, which means ”to shine” or ”to glitter”, thus making Lanka a name that means ”that which glitters”.It earned this name on account of the glittering of the gold and gems found on its surface.”
Oon nyt ollut mun lempipaikassa, taikasaarella nimeltä Sri Lanka jo jonkin aikaa. Vihdoin oon päässyt paikkaan jossa on hyvät nettiyhteydet joten matkapäiväkirjojen ensimmäinen luku voi alkaa. Tällä hetkellä vatsassa parveilee ehkä noin sata ja yksi perhosta sillä mun ensimmäinen oma joogaretriitti alkaa täällä huomenna… <3
// I have been traveling on this magical island of Sri Lanka for a while now. This is one of my very favorite places (and I have traveled quite a lot). I finally got the WI-FI working properly so let the Sri Lankan diaries begin. I’m super excited since my 10 days yoga retreat is going to start tomorrow – and it’s my very first one. Can’t wait to meet the people & show them this beautiful island.
Sometimes no plan is the best plan... I accidentally found this beautiful river hidden in the woods (in Kandy area).
